Margaret Mary Nicholson

Research by Marjorie Gregson
Margaret Mary Nicholson, nee McMichael, was born in 1881 to David McMichael, a schoolmaster, and his wife, Emily, in Ashton under Lyne.
She was one of eight children on the 1881 census.

In 1909 she married Alfred Henry Nicholson in Chorlton, Manchester.
He was born in 1863 in Manchester, the son of Alfred, a book-keeper, and his wife, Margaret.

The 1911 census shows Alfred Henry and Margaret Mary living in West Didsbury, at which time his occupation was given as 'master plumber'. Their daughter, Margaret, was born that year and a son, Geoffrey, was born in 1916.
When Alfred died in 1925 their address was 13 Devonshire Road, St Annes
on Sea. Margaret was still living there in 1934 at the time of the donation.
