Ann Jane Aspinall was born in 1867 in Liverpool. In 1892 Ann married Allen Haigh in Lytham. He was born in Huddersfield in 1863 to James, a master cloth finisher, and Elizabeth. Ann Jane Aspinall was the second wife of Allen Haigh, his first wife, Alice, having died in 1891 at a young age, leaving Allen and two young children, Nellie (1889) and Edith (1891), both born in Huddersfield. Allen and Ann had two children, James Aspinall Haigh (1895), born in Huddersfield, and Mabel (1898), born in Lytham. James and Mabel were both baptised in 1898 at St John the Divine in L:ytham. Sadly, Allen died in 1898, aged 34, and was buried at St John the Divine. By 1901 Ann Jane Haigh was residing at 73 Warton Street, a widow living on her own means, with all the children. By 1911 Ann had returned to Huddersfield with Edith, James and Mabel. In 1917 Ann was living at Carlton House, Grimethorpe, Barnsley, Yorkshire when her son died. At this time he was Lieutenant James Aspinall Haigh of the Duke of Wellington’s West Riding Regiment. By 1934 Ann had returned to the Fylde and was living at 7 Arundel Road, Fairhaven. However, at the time of her donation she had moved to Ribble Lodge, 8 West Beach, Lytham. Ann Haigh died in a Sheffield nursing home, aged 87.
